Motion Design & Global TV Localisation
One TV production. Hundreds of localised spots.
I've been working on trivago's global TV campaigns since 2019, creating product animations, motion graphics and After Effects templates for international adaptations.
A big part of my work is making sure that what we create for the master can be adapted across different languages and markets, with as little repetitive work as possible.

01 / Motion Design
Making every second count.
Product animations in TV commercials need to be clear, engaging and easy to follow, often in just a few seconds.
I work on timing, movement and visual details to make these interactions feel natural, while keeping everything consistent with trivago's visual identity.
I'm also involved in the production process, helping identify potential issues during filming that could affect the motion work or future adaptations.

02 / After Effects Templates & Automation
Less manual work. More control.
One of the things I enjoy most is finding ways to make complex projects easier to work with.
I use After Effects expressions, scripts and Essential Graphics controls to automate repetitive tasks and make animations easier to adapt.
Different frame rates are part of the planning from the beginning. Each format, such as 25 or 29.97 fps, requires its own properly prepared project, including the different spot lengths.
The idea is to build everything carefully once, so other designers and production partners can work with the templates without having to rebuild the animations.

03 / AI Lip-Sync Localisation
Same performance. Different languages.
In 2023, I started implementing AI lip-sync with HeyGen into trivago's TV production workflow, making it possible to adapt the original performances into different languages without filming them again.
It took some experimentation to integrate the technology into our existing production process, especially with broadcast formats and delivery requirements.
AI helps speed things up, but every result still needs careful review and integration with the localised motion graphics.

04 / Global TV Adaptations
One master. Multiple markets.
Our first AI lip-sync rollout adapted a single TV campaign for thirteen markets.
Since then, we've used this workflow across more than ten global TV spots, supporting hundreds of localised versions for different markets, languages and broadcast requirements.
My role combines motion design, template development and automation to make these adaptations easier to produce, manage and deliver consistently.
